A new Improver class launched from Autumn 2026 at 7pm on Thursday evenings, £5 per class.
While we're trialling this class, the venue varies a bit week by week, so please get in touch for further information.

Common Questions
Do I need any experience?
Not at all — the Absolute Beginner session is always open to new joiners.
What should I wear and bring?
Wear comfortable clothes and well-fitting shoes that aren't too grippy. Bring plenty of water, especially in warm weather.
Is it difficult?
Not if you are patient with yourself. For many people it takes a few weeks to 'click' and then suddenly they're away!
What happens in a typical class?
You'll learn basic steps of line dancing and put them into sequences to a variety of fab music. Line dancing is all about remembering dances!
Is there parking?
Yes - the Town Hall car park is directly behind the hall, and is free after 6pm.
Can I come on my own?
Most people do - it's a very friendly group and you'll be made to feel welcome.
Is it a sociable activity?
Absolutely - most weeks some of us end up in the pub next door, and there are lots of local line dance events to become involved in.
Is it high-impact exercise?
Most beginner dances are suitable for anyone able to participate in gentle exercise. Some dances are a little faster or involve more turning.
Will it only be country music?
No - modern line dance classes use music from a variety of genres. However, Katie-Lou does usually try to make sure there are plenty of country tracks in each class.
I have a health concern - will the class be suitable for me?
If you have any health conditions or injuries, please consult with your GP before attending and let Katie-Lou know if there's anything she should be aware of. There is a lift to the upstairs hall, but if restricted mobility prevents you from using the stairs, the class will probably be unsuitable for you - please get in touch with Katie-Lou to discuss.
Can children attend?
It may be possible for accompanied children to participate from around age 9, but please contact Katie-Lou beforehand.
Is Katie-Lou a certified instructor?
Yes, Katie-Lou qualified as an instructor with the Everything Line Dance Association and her ongoing paid membership includes public liability insurance.
